DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY KHYBER MEDICAL COLLEGE AND KHYBER TEACHING HOSPITAL PESHAWAR
In addition to advancing clinical care, a primary focus of our Department is education and research. To this end, we endeavour to provide outstanding teaching and training to tomorrow’s leaders in surgery, as well as research opportunities. Our trainees are competitive for the most highly regarded fellowships or, if they decide, are ready for entering faculty or specialist positions in general surgery. We are also responsible for surgical teaching of all medical students throughout the five years of our undergraduate curriculum and ensure that they have ready access to high-quality education that consistently responds to their individual needs. Besides teaching and training, we shape our students in values that we ourselves take pride in: authenticity, integrity and professionalism.
Surgery is in a period of enormous growth and innovation. We will need to work diligently to meet the challenges ahead and to garner a strong international reputation. I look forward to working together to do better today than we did yesterday.
